Twitter does have results when used effectively. To help build your business with twitter, use the following steps:

Start a twitter account that is just for the business and will be separate from a personal account you may already have. It's important when setting up the account that you try to come up with a unique account name and try to include your business as part of the name. To inform your followers of your business make sure to complete the profile with all important business information. Have a short description of information regarding the business.  Make sure to include your location contact number also when completing the profile. It may be helpful to include a website link to your business website.

Try to create a stylish but unique background for your page. Doing so will attract more followers when they go to your page. A suggestion would be to incorporate a reminder of your business into the background picture. This would help make the page stand out, and the person will think about what your page was about.

Look for different people and business to start following. Follow businesses that are similar to yours and don't forget to include people that are clients, professional colleagues as well as friends and family. Word of mouth is one of the best advertisements there is for a company.

Follow as many people as possible to help increase the volume of people learning about what you have to offer. Accumulating followers will help because your followers will also have followers who might see your page and then follow you and decide to do business with you. It is important to answer people's tweets to you and get involved in conversations. Re-tweeting what others have posted is also helpful for getting your point across and gaining more followers who might be interested in your business.
